Little knowledge on BHA

BHA is Beta Hydroxy Acid. It is a naturally occurring ingredient, usually derived from willow bark and other sources. It has been shown in multiple studies to improve skin barrier function and collagen production. It’s best used in concentrations from 0.5% – 2%. I was a little skeptical about the product because my experience with products containing BHA has not been very good in the past. Because it irritates my skin and gives me rash on my forehead and the rash stays like a month. Then luckily I came across an article about what you shouldn’t do when you use BHA. Now I know what I was doing wrong this whole time. When you use BHA or this kind of product do not SCRUB your skin. That’s the key of getting the best result out of it. Again I started using Paula’s Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA liquid exfoliant and no scrubbing as the article said. And Voila! I couldn’t believe my eyes. No rash at all. And the product itself did a great miracle for my skin.

I apply this nightly 2-3 times a week after I have cleansed and toned my face and it has done wonders. The result is I wake up with glowy, even texture, even color, with smaller looking pores. I pour a small amount into my hand and smooth a thin layer over my face. If you have sensitive skin like me, I would wait a bit after washing your face before using this. I actually wash my face, use my essence and moisturizer, and then wait at least 15-30 min for everything to sink in. Then I apply the BHA on top. You would think it wouldn’t work as well, but I get the same results but my skin feels plumper and more hydrated in the morning. Will never stop buying this.

Bravura: Distilled Water, Salicylic acid, Propylene Glycol, Hexylene Glycol, Sodium Citrate, Sodium Hydroxide.
PC: Water (Aqua), Methylpropanediol (hydration), Butylene Glycol (hydration), Salicylic Acid (beta hydroxy acid/exfoliant), Polysorbate 20 (stabilizer), Camellia Oleifera Leaf Extract (green tea/skin calming/antioxidant), Sodium Hydroxide (pH balancer), Tetrasodium EDTA (stabilizer).

 What it does

1. Creates radiant even toned skin.
2. Reduces redness & builds collagen.
3. Unclogs and diminishes enlarged pores.

Direction

Apply a small amount on cleansed and toned skin once or twice daily. Dispense onto a cotton ball and apply it to your face avoiding the eye area and lip area. Do not rinse.
