How are you all doing?  Recently we had international Women’s Day so cheers to all the lovely and beautiful women who are reading this post. Today I am going to review a lipstick which I am sure has been or will be a top favorite one for all the pretty girls out there. This has been one of my top favorite and loyal friend and helped to create a lot of glamorous new looks for years!! Yes I am talking about one of most raved lipsticks in the world – “NARS Scarlet Empress”. Now a days  I personally love to try bright lipsticks with dark colors because it gives you a depth in your look which automatically draws attention from all around!! It was however not the case before.

Being a normal medium color skin tone, I was always afraid to try out bold colors. But the concept of beauty has changed a lot. As long as you are confident and comfortable, you can carry any lip color. If you see recent fashion trends people are leaning more towards deeper darker lip color shades irrespective of skin tone and it all depends on overall look that you create. So don’t be afraid to try any darker shade out there!! So finally I got the courage and picked up this bad girl from Sephora. Believe me, I don’t regret this decision at all. I am literally obsessed with this color!! The name and no of the shade is “NARS Scarlet Empress 1008”. Before I tell you why I am in love with this shade so much let me give you a brief overview on the company NARS a little bit.

A little info on NARS

NARS Cosmetics is a French cosmetics and skin care company founded by make-up artist and photographer François Nars in 1994. A graduate of the Carita Make-up School in Paris, dapper Frenchman François Nars is another in the line of frustrated makeup artists turned cosmetics giants. The cosmetics line began with twelve lipsticks sold at Barneys New York. Since then, NARS has created various multi-use beauty products and now is a subsidiary of Shiseido. NARS Cosmetics, Inc. provides skincare and cosmetic products in the United States and internationally. It offers colors, lipsticks, nail polishes, eye shadows, and moisturizers, as well as accessories, such as brushes, candies, hand wipes, perfecting powder sheets, and eyelash curlers.

My love for the shade

This is a cool deep berry tone lipstick with a prominent bright color. This lipstick is said to be perfect for winter and autumn season. Just imagine yourself wearing this bright color amidst all the white snow around. This shade will rock your evening look for restaurants or nightclubs. I recently went to a nightclub in Toronto wearing this and it looked like this shade is made for nightlife! The shade is a semi matte formula which a gives you a dark but matte look. It has a pink blue based wine color which goes excellent with wine in a fine dining. Imagine yourself with this shade in a fine dining restaurant with this shade sipping a glass of wine and your lover on the other side watching sensuously every time the wine touches your lips.  I am sure your loved one to crave to kiss you at that very moment:)

What are the best features?

Here are some of the best features which stand out of the rest:

• The lipstick has excellent pigmentation so it even hides if your lip is dry!
• It has bright but matte finish which makes it unique
• It lasts for at least 3-4 hours so it has quite a good longevity.
• The color will brighten the whole face and the overall look

Some secret tips

Now that you know a lot about the shade let me give you a few secret tips which nobody will tell you. SShh it’s secret!!

• If you want a fuller darker look layer it 2-3 times and this shade attracts like hell!
• In order to create a perfect look moisture your lips first with a balm. Then apply a concealer on the lips. After that you outline your lips with a red lip liner and smudge it over your lips. Once you are done then apply this lipstick and color will be more bright and attractive.
• If you eat or drink in the evening don’t worry for the color to wear off, it leaves a purple touch still on the lips because it is heavily pigmented. Just carry it in your purse and apply it once more in the powder room.
