How are you all doing? It has been some time since I wrote a post and I apologize for that. Life has been busy with my studies in Social Media Marketing and Integrated Marketing Communications. Everyone said it is hard to juggle studies and work, now I believe it lol! Well good news is studies are over and I am doing my placement job now as a social media strategist and I am getting back to writing all new blog posts again, so stay tuned. Today I am going to tell you about my trip to a Winter Wonderland right in Ontario, Canada which amazed and mesmerized me totally. It is The Hockley Valley Resort.
Trip to Hockley Valley Resort
Winter Wonderland
Our life is nothing but a collection of small adventures, and I personally seek out for new adventures in life. Looking for new ventures, I went to an absolute winter wonderland – The Hockley Valley Resort recently! Tucked inside a small town of Mono Ontario, it is an unique destination where you can find top class accommodation, relaxing spa facilities and the best ski slopes to get some adrenaline rush! If you are a golf lover visit them in summer to try their amazing golf course. As we hit the exit from highway, the long narrow roads with snowcapped trees and fields made me realize the adventure and thrill! The resort building is huge from outside and the architecture gives a classy outlook. Inside is cozy with chic retro decor including chandeliers and fireplace and wine racks. Check in was fast and easy and within the blink of an eye I was entering my suite!
The accommodation
As I entered the suite, again the new-age decor caught my eye. The suite had 2 floors, the lower floor had sitting area with fireplace, a walking closet, a bathroom and a balcony. The warm decor and the view of ski slope was very eye catching. Up the stairs was the master bedroom with another balcony and a bathroom. The bedroom looked really classy and had a relaxing aura which will tempt you to be in bed all day. The bedroom had high ceilings which gave a historic picture of how building architecture in the past used to be. The room was full with all amenities you need and it really made me feel like home!
The amenities
The resort is a fully equipped establishment with their cozy up-scale bar with local tap beers. There is also a large vault with stock of all types of wine you can think of. There is a large swimming pool with a smaller heated pool too. The gym had all top class instruments which I btw loved! There is a outside fireplace with chairs around, I sat down by the fire late at night with a coffee and it was so dreamy! From outside sitting area I could see the slopes of the ski and it was beautiful to watch. I am a little scary cat on skis so I did not try it out but it looked amazing!
The food
We had our reservation for a Wine and Unwind package in a nearby winery called Adamo Winery which is also owned by them. As I entered the place, again the new-age retro decor just impressed me. The dining space was an absolute surprise. decor will make you feel you are suddenly in a James Bond Hollywood movie, I am seriously not over saying! A breathtaking view, candle lights, live romantic music, and cuisine which is fresh picked from farm and delivered in plate….you can already picture it! The wine collection was exotic and the food menu was amazing. I could choose any dishes and any number of times. I tried the oysters, mussels, prawns, lasagna and more. The seared mahi tuna was fresh and juicy cooked to perfection and the lasagna was cheesy, filled with meat and hot from the oven! Melodious live music and top class menu with one of the best wines made the evening one of those which you remember your whole life.
The Spa
I slept like a log at night and waking up in the morning with the first light of sun and a warm cup of coffee was relaxing. I had a breakfast buffet so I went fast there. There were option of different types of eggs. bacon, toast, milk and cereals, seasonal fruits and a lot more. After having a hearty breakfast I had a full relaxing body massage session booked at the spa. The interior of the spa facility gives a full relaxing vibe with bright sunshine coming in and the service of all the spa professional was very welcoming. My spa session started and the lady who giving the massage was really an angel. Her hands had magic and I just went into a total zone of relaxation which enjoying the massage. I must mention Hockley Valley Resort also have a beautiful store with an wide array of amazing beauty products, some of them are a must try!
My memories
There are some adventures in life which remained in the memories for your whole life and it was one of them. The location, accommodation, hospitality, amenities and food – everything was top class. I enjoyed every moment I spent there. I sincerely thank Hockley Valley Report for having me and I would love to come back again.
